This part was originally 8 minutes long rather than 3, but 5 minutes had to be cut down due to time issues. Waters switched back to bass and he and Nick get funky. Part VIII (5:49 - 9:17): Waters plays a bit of guitar (Done by David live) as David plays rythm and bridges Parts VII and VIII (Bridge done by Snowy live). Not as long as Part IV and with the same vocalists. This part ends with a reprise of Part IV’s solo that’s performed by Snowy in live versions. David switches to lap steel and plays in unison with Rick before doing a solo. Rick kicks in and David (Snowy live) plays the rythm guitar as Mason joins. Part VI (0:00 - 3:49): Fading in from the howling wind of Wish You Were Here, Waters and Gilmour duel with their bass riffs (Live had Water soloing here). Fades into Welcome to the Machine afterwards. Part V (11:10 - 13:30): Reprise of the main four notes theme. ‘77 version dropped the female vocals and had Snowy White sing backing as well.

David and Rick sing backing alongside the female backing vocalists from DSotM. Part IV (8:42 - 11:10): Roger sings the lyrics. David’s solo often had distortion added in the ‘77 Tour as well. Richard plays another synth solo, Nick tones down the drums and David plays a third solo. Part III (6:27 - 8:42): This one is easy to confuse with Part II IMO. I’m not sure, but I think the In The Flesh Tour had Snowy White playing this solo. Part II (3:54 - 6:27): The four notes kick in. Part I (00:00 - 3:54): Richard’s synthetiser and the slow, bluesly solo by David.
